5 Ways to Avoid Being an Overwhelmed Christian Nonprofit Leader

How to avoid burnout and overwhelm as a Christian Nonprofit leader

Have you ever felt like you have a to do list a mile long and everything getting thrown at you as you start your week?

You open your calendar to find that you have:

* volunteer meeting

* donor meeting

* bills that need paid

* family duties.

This can cause you to feel overwhelmed and lose your peace! We train a lot in the steps to overcoming the overwhelm that you can feel as a nonprofit leader.

Perfect peace is found in trusting Jesus.

Now you may say that's great, but how do I do this?

1. Prioritize Your Quiet Time - It's vital as a nonprofit leader to get time with the Lord not only for your spiritual development but to be a good leader as well.

2. Keep the mission before you - Keep photos of the people you are helping on your desk. Keep your mission statement in front of you. Remind yourself daily what God has called you to do. This helps on days when you feel overwhelmed and weary.

3. Rest - Rest is key to being a good nonprofit leader. Turn off social media. Cut out distractions. Work from rest not for it.

4. Pick a promise for your nonprofit organization and focus on it. The one above works well. He will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast because they trust in you.

Isaiah 26:3I would recite, Lord, thank you for keeping me in perfect peace. Help me to keep my mind fixed on what you have for me today. Help me to trust you more. Amen

5. Delegate - "Let it Go" - Let go of things. What is He calling you to? Do that. Everything else either a volunteer comes do do it or it doesn't get done. Delegating also frees you up to do more of what God has called you to do.

Is God calling you to a nonprofit and your overwhelmed.... reach out and let's hop on a call to see where you are at and where you want to be...
